This Tuesday, JANUARY 24th, we will be reading the screenplay to the 1987 film MOONSTRUCK by John Patrick Shanley.
MOONSTRUCK is the story of Loretta Castorini, a Sicilian-American widow, who is an accountant in Brooklyn Heights, New York, where she lives with her family: her father Cosmo who is a successful plumber, her mother Rose, and her paternal grandfather. One day she meets her fiancé Johnny Cammareri’s brother, Ronny, with whom she shares a whirlwind romance. Written by John Patrick Shanley, the playwright famous for DOUBT, the film is about traditions, family, and finding your true love. This is widely considered a breakout role for Cher, who won an Academy Award for Best Actress for the film.
