POLTERGEIST centers around the Freeling family, Steve, Diane, teenage daughter Dana, eight-year-old Robbie, and five-year-old Carol Ann, who reside in the sleepy suburban town of Cuesta Verde Estates. Strange unexplainable events occur around the house when one night Carol Ann is summoned to the TV set. A sudden burst of green light is purged from the TV set onto the bedroom wall, causing the room to shake violently, prompting the now famous line, “They’re he-e-ere!” The Freeling family soon learns that the visiting spirits are not all friendly as initially thought. When Carol Ann goes missing they turn to a parapsychologist and an exorcist for help.
